Bangladesh-Uzbekistan to work jointly in IT expansion: Palak

 

DHAKA, Nov 13, 2021 (BSS) –

 

State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak today said Bangladesh and Uzbekistan will work together for expansion of IT industry, research and development of entrepreneurs.

He said this at a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) here.

Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority and IT Park, Uzbekistan inked a MoU for extending cooperation in hi-tech manufacturing, research and development of entrepreneurs.

Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Managing Director (routine duty) Syed Zahurul Islam and IT Park, Uzbekistan Executive Director Ibragimov Farkhod Zairovic inked the ceremony on behalf of their respective sides.

Zunaid Ahmed Palak attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

He said they have recently visited Innovation Center of Tashkent in Uzbekistan to get experience how Uzbekistan developed in the field of innovation in the last four years.

During the visit, they met Uzbekistan Prime Minister’s Digital Technology Affairs Adviser Olimjon Umarov and Uzbekistan Innovation Development Minister Ibrokhim Yu Abdurakhmonov. They came to know that Uzbekistan put special importance on research and innovation and already got $100 million investment.

Palak said Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park and IT Park, Uzbekistan would jointly work in the field of IT or ITS, Hi-tech manufacturing opportunities, development of strategies and policies, research and innovations and development of entrepreneurs.

Earlier in September last, a business delegation of Bangladesh led by Bangladesh Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman and State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak held meeting with Uzbekistan Prime Minister’s Digital Technology Affairs Adviser Olimjon Umarov and Uzbekistan Innovation Development Minister Ibrokhim Yu Abdurakhmonov in Tashkent.
