The Embassy of Bangladesh in Jakarta organized a ‘Blood Donation Program’

Dhaka October 30 2021 :

Today, on 30 October 2021 in celebration of the Mujib Year, Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Golden Jubilee of the Independence of Bangladesh, the Embassy of Bangladesh in Jakarta has organized a ‘Blood Donation Program’ at the Chancery premises.

H.E. Air Vice Marshal Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Indonesia and Mr. Haji Rustam Effendi, Chairman of Palang Merah Indonesia DKI Jakarta inaugurated the program in the morning. Among others notable personalities present on the occasion were Dr. Niken Ritchie, Head of the Blood Donor Unit PMI DKI Jakarta, Ms Veranita Yosephine, CEO of Indonesia Air Asia Airlines.

The programme received spontaneous response from the Bangladesh Community in Indonesia and local Jakarta residents. The Embassy officials and staff also participated in this humanitarian program for a noble intent. The program was executed maintaining the Covid -19 health protocol and restrictions on community activities of the host country. A total of 65 blood donors donated the blood.

The Ambassador thanked to Mr. H. Rustam Effendi, Chairman of Palang Merah Indonesia DKI Jakarta and his team for their support to the Bangladesh Embassy for organizing the program successfully.

The Ambassador expressed that the Embassy of Bangladesh in Jakarta is willing to continue such philanthropic work in future with the help of the concerned department of the Government of Indonesia. In response, the Chairman of Red Cross Jakarta thanked the Embassy for organizing such humanitarian contributions through Indonesian Red Cross Jakarta in celebration of the Mujib Year.

The Ambassador thanked all blood donors for rendering support to such endeavour of the Embassy of Bangladesh. In conclusion the Ambassador wished everybody good health, happiness and prosperity.
